These terms govern use of BarberNow during the Montreal pilot. BarberNow is a marketplace and booking platform; independent barbers provide the haircut or grooming service.
Marketplace role
BarberNow helps customers discover, request and book independent barbers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, BarberNow is not the barber, employer or provider of the underlying grooming service and does not control the professional judgment of independent barbers.
Accounts
Customers and barbers must provide accurate account information and maintain a verified phone number for protected marketplace activity. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access credentials secure.
Bookings
A confirmed booking records the barber, service, price, location, date and time shown in BarberNow. For an Available Now booking, the immediate-booking experience includes temporary live approach sharing after the barber accepts so the barber can prepare for the customer's arrival; it ends at arrival or service start. Scheduled appointments remain separate and do not use this live approach feature. Users must not intentionally create duplicate or conflicting appointments. Availability can change until a booking is confirmed.
Customer payment
During the Montreal pilot, haircut payments are made directly by the customer to the barber using a payment method the barber accepts. BarberNow does not collect the customer's haircut payment. Tips or off-platform changes are arrangements between the customer and barber unless recorded through BarberNow.
Cancellations, lateness and no-shows
Customers and barbers should cancel or reschedule through BarberNow when possible and use the running-late tools for delays. During the Montreal pilot, a customer cancellation within 60 minutes of the appointment is recorded as a late-cancellation strike. Two late cancellations within a rolling 60-day period may lead to booking restrictions after review. BarberNow does not currently charge a customer cancellation fee during the pilot. Repeated no-shows, misuse or attempts to evade platform rules may also be reviewed and may result in restrictions.
Reviews, messages and safety
Reviews must be tied to completed BarberNow bookings. BarberNow applies a basic pre-publication text filter to reviews and a pre-send text filter to booking messages and public barber profile text. Users can report safety, harassment, fraud, conduct or inappropriate review concerns through booking-linked reporting, and customers and barbers can block one another from future direct interaction and booking connections. Blocking does not silently cancel an existing appointment. Serious reports may trigger temporary restrictions while BarberNow reviews the situation.
Prohibited conduct
You may not misuse another person's account, scrape private data, bypass role or billing controls, harass users, submit false information, manipulate reviews, evade legitimate BarberNow fees, or use the service for unlawful conduct.
Availability and changes
BarberNow is under active pilot development. We may change, pause or discontinue features to protect reliability, safety, legal compliance or marketplace operations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, BarberNow is not responsible for the independent barber's professional services, personal property loss, or indirect damages arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
Governing requirements
These terms are intended for the Montreal, Quebec pilot and are subject to applicable Quebec and Canadian law. If a mandatory legal right conflicts with these terms, the mandatory legal right controls.
